Breakfast Blog with Shelly Ward (5/16/13)

What an amazing day we had yesterday at the Project. I cannot explain the love that I felt as we walked in. How the children’s and teachers faces lit up as they recocognized me from last year. It was as if I have been coming there everyday to be with them.

I am so blessed to be a part of this journey again this year to see all of ,y brother’s and sister’s that have been in my heart and prayers for so long. God is working within each one of us and will continue to work even after we are thousands of miles from each other.

Thank you for your prayers as we continue here in Tangalona!

Love,
Shelly

Mbaiki

Today we headed south to the village of Mbaiki. When we arrived we found the entire village had gathered and were singing songs of welcome. We were all taken to a shade hut where we sat and rested. We then took a tour of the village and met all the people. After the tour we had an interesting lunch of rice, chicken and caterpillars (they actually were tasty). Then Ray had the opportunity to pass out the clothes his church made for the families and a loaf of bread. When it was time to go we were sat down again and the women came out in a parade, singing songs and gave us a large bowl of bananas. Then the men marched out and sang to us as well. It was definately one of the more memorable experiences since we arrived.
